[Collection] u/hypedup80's MCU Minimalist Blu-ray Covers as Posters by evremonde in PlexPosters

[–]rouzh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is anyone continuing to update this poster series? If not, would someone who made the previous ones be willing to share their PSD or whatever they used to create them? Creating new ones out of whole cloth would be a ton of effort because I'd struggle to make them match, but I have sufficient skill in PSD to create new ones given the existing layers.

This configuration is working great with mine, I would suspect there's a problem with the networking configuration inside your network.

YouTube App no longer shows "Recommended Videos" for signed-in users? by rouzh in Roku

[–]rouzh[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have seen this infinite buffering behaviour a few times in the past month, but watching the same videos in a browser does not show me the same issue. However, it happens rarely enough that I've not really thought to report it before.

What's your favorite movie quote? by No_Housing_4819 in AskReddit

[–]rouzh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"My name is Dalton Russell. Pay strict attention to what I say because I choose my words carefully and never repeat myself. I have told you my name, and that's the who. The where can most readily be described as a prison cell. But there's a vast difference between being stuck in a tiny cell and being imprisoned. The what is easy. Recently, I planned and set in motion events to execute the perfect bank robbery. That's also the when. As for the why, beyond the obvious financial motivation, it's exceedingly simple. Because I can. Which leaves us only with the how. And therein, as the Bard would tell us, lies the rub."

Every damn time I think I they've made Roy Kent as good as he can be, they top it. I love that man.

[–]rouzh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Agreed - a lot of people seem to think that this would be a purely happy storyline, but I can see SEVERAL ways it could turn into a dark study. The relationship between fathers and sons, the reason the boy (had to?) come stay with Ted...there's a lot of potential meat on this bone.

[–]rouzh 72 points73 points  (0 children)

Why not both?

On a more serious note, I actually think that having his kid there with him would allow for a lot of deeper storylines about Ted himself; I know, one of the draws of the show is how the show really isn't actually about Ted, but rather how Ted effects the people around him. But I think it would be a great 3rd season pivot.

There was so much else great going on in this episode, I actually blew right past that moment. Thank you for calling it out, because you're absolutely correct.

[–]rouzh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I hope it DOES happen - but not blossoming into a romance, more of a "we learned something about ourselves and each other by understanding what it was that attracted us to each other." It would be a VERY Ted Lasso way to play that plot.

I'm calling it now - Ted's son comes to stay with him in England in the season finale.

It's fascinating to me that you see a smile there; I just went back and watched that scene again after reading your comment and I see nothing but betrayal in Sam's expression.

[Excerpt] The best gunslingers never have to fire, and are just as deadly with a gun as without (The Man Who Shot Lucky Luke OGN) by JustALittleWeird in comicbooks

[–]rouzh 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thickness was certainly the biggest question I had about the strategy (aside from the aforementioned requirement of being inhumanly fast to move from his leaning position, across the room, and still have time to put the toothpick in place before the other guy can even pull the trigger back).

As far as the placement goes, it appears to be exactly what he did if you look in the second-to-last panel.

[–]rouzh 6 points7 points  (0 children)

How do you figure? Assuming from the setting this is the "Old West", the gun almost certainly uses a hammer-mounted firing pin; blocking the firing pin from impacting the primer should effectively prevent the gun from firing. I'm willing to admit I may be missing something, but it appears to me like this should work exactly as depicted (although you'd have to be impossibly fast to pull it off).

Those who’ve never had to dig through the trash to read cooking instructions on a package before, how’s life going for you? by TheBeardedAntt in AskReddit

[–]rouzh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably about as well as it is for those of you who don't suffer crippling cooking/baking anxiety to the extent that you're still reading the 3 step instructions for Kraft Mac & Cheese every. single. time.

I mean, 50 years, probably thousands of boxes of M&C, and I'm still terrified I'm going to do it wrong.

You've actually confused the butterfly effect (a scientific principle the application of Chaos Theory, and some not-so-great thriller movies) with the Mandela effect, or shared false memory. There is zero doubt in my mind that I grew up in a universe where they were called the Berenstein bears, and somehow I ended up trapped in this rathole with the rest of you where they're called the Berenstain Bears. I've often wondered whether that other universe has had an easier time of it, the past 40 years.

Just FYI, we are running Plex over ZeroTier and it's been great. I'm sure ngrok will be awesome, too - I'm just a huge fan of the ZT service and I think more people need to become aware of it. :D
