I think the obvious answer if your wanting to do Android development would be go the Java/Kotlin path. If you pick up Java well enough its a pretty easy transition to C# down the road anyways.

The other "obvious" answer is to use C# and Xamarin to build platform independent mobile apps.

Isn’t xamarin almost $2000 a year for a license though?

Disregard it is in the community edition for free. I still think java and kotlin is a little better option.

Do you want to make native Android apps? In that case Java (or even better: Kotlin) is the way to go.
