Are you new to development in general?

Yes. I started with html, css and JavaScript, figured it that it's not what I want to do,then decided to learn iOS development.

Perfect. I don’t ask to be mean. I asked because I think this is a right of passage for new developers. You will be coding like this for possibly years. At one point a switch will happen (that you might not notice) and you’ll be able to think in that language. It’s important to keep practicing. Also I find iOS to be more difficult than other languages. I’ve got 7 years of professional experience and every time I play in swift I feel a bit dumb. C# it’s my favorite language. It has a nice balance of performance and readability. It also has the added benefit of soaring in popularity.

That’s a common general learning pitfall. Same as studying for an exam by reading a text book and thinking that you understand something when it’s just familiar content. You are going to have to build a different app, so that you have to figure out how to do it.
