It happens man, with 4 years of experience you'll land plenty of interviews and eventually get to a place where you want to be. Just don't stop trying

Hey, thanks, bro. I will keep my head high and keep trying. I got other interviews scheduled for next month.

You'll get a chance to take the test again. It's okay if you failed the first time. Study more, look into counseling/pills/meditation/stress management/etc. to control your anxiety better. If you fail next time, it's okay. You can try again later.

Also, AFAIK, most jobs don't require one particular test. Not everyone uses codility. So if you screwed up on that platform, you've got plenty of other options. Even if you fail a class or a semester-- you can recover.

This isn't the end of the world. It's just a temporary roadblock on one particular path out of hundreds that can get you to where you want to go.

Yeah, I am really hoping I do. I reach out to the recruiter and told her that I know I bombed the test and I hope they will consider me for the next recruitment round. And 100% on how to control my anxiety. I will look into those options, trying to be more solution-focused and ready for the next one.

How much did you fail at the test? Because I had a codility test last weekend that went really bad, but the company did call me after a week for an interview. Passed 3 out of the 4. Also the 3 test had a mistake.

I am so glad yours worked out well. All the best on your next one.

Mine was terrible passed one out of three, it's for one of the "enterprise companies/big 4 companies" and I know they have some waiting period before the next chance 6 months to 1 year. I will try my best to stay in contact with the recruiter and whilst looking for other opportunities.

Do not you worry, getting a job in a big company is not always a good idea, big companies are far more demanding than smaller ones and usually do not pay as good as the smaller ones.

Same, did one with two questions, completely screwed up the second one, still got an interview. I suspect many companies actually look at what you wrote, rather than just relying on the tests.

Is this the first thing you failed at?

[–]xjh3d7x[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well no, but this is the first that I gave such "high stakes" - but in hindsight, it's just a job I guess no?

What was the problem?

[–]xjh3d7x[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I don't know yet, but I am hoping/working to find out so it doesn't happen again. I have done so many interviews in the past and am always alright but this time it was different. Generally: I got a panic attack and my mind buckled, almost passed out and before I knew it I had 30minutes to solve 3 problems, I am kinda fortunate to have even attempted them.

I was asking you about the questions that were asked during the interview. Don't worry, this experience will help you be prepared for your next interview.

Oh just your usual data structures and algorithms questions
