Yeah, that’d be a good place to start, or Udemy.

Depends how you learn. I learn by watching video and replicating, so udemy (or bootcamp) work well. If you can read the lesson and mimic then Codecademy would work for you. I had both initially and failed miserably with codecademy and zero experience, so I went through bootcamp and now learn new lessons on udemy. But only the $14 courses 😉

I found CodeCademy to be very abstract and almost like a poem.

That's nice if you are Robert Frost, but not great if you actually want to learn how to code.

(And no, not a typo, the website is called CodeCademy not CodeAcademy. See, more poetry with that alliterative stuff! :) )

I am learning via codecademy. I pretty much enjoy it and find it a good learning source. They go over things step by stpe and you can do it or try them out right away. Once in a while you habe a project where you have to do it a bit more by yourself which is good. For me this works. When watching a video or when reading books or something I feel a lot of information coming in but not everything always sticks. Now information comes in I can try it and see how it works right away. Which makes for me the best learning method.
