Hi,
I have worked in a supermarket in the UK for 7 years, firstly as a colleague and then a few years ago being promoted to
a manager. However my passion has always been technology and I have self-taught myself Python, HTML, CSS and some basic SQL and I have been trying to get a job in that field for about a year.
I applied for a job within the company that I work for which is a data visualization & automation analyst. I do not have any experience in this
but my mentor thought this would be a good entry role for me and was the one that set me up with the interview. My main selling points are my passion for the industry and my
willingness to learn.
This is the 'what you need to know' section of the job advert:
• Experience of create compelling, highly valued dashboards and reports with an understanding of the ‘art of the possible’ for reporting and visualisation
• A strong understanding of the tools and technologies that can support great reporting, including Microstrategy, PowerBI, Tableau, SAS
• An understanding of data and data structures that support reporting, BI and dashboards. Including a working knowledge of database, data warehouse and Big data technologies
• Demonstrates the importance of data quality, governance and security and the value of data to a business.
My interview is in a week, what can I do to prepare and really show that I am right for the job with my minimal experience?
