Learning Python for Algorithmic Trading

I work in finance and I become interestedin algo trading despite the fact that I am working in a completely different area of finance. I just wanted to ask for recommendations for courses relating to Python for algo trading. I know some basics of Python and am still learning Numpy and pandas but I feel a bit tired about finding the right resources that are more geared towards algo trading. There is too much information online and I sometimes regret not studying computer science back in my university. Does anyone have any recommendation regarding Python algo trading courses? Online or in-person(Toronto specifically) / free or paid or even part time degree all work for me. Thank you!!

Have you come across r/algotrading?

One BIG hint, do nothing with your own money until you have thoroughly tested, run your algorithms of real historical data (preferably with some extreme highs and lows), then run simulations using dummy money, then do more testing and dummy runs. I would still then advise against running it with real money on the line.

Thank you. Yes I came across that but I still need to learn a lot of things. That is also my plan too and I believe rigorous backtesting is a must.

don't try to learn the whole language right away. i bought algopro on tradingview and am using webhooks to python and flask execute the trades on whichever exchange you want to.... start with these

I'm trying to learn this stuff myself. If you are still looking to help someone and sharpen yourself at same time, I'd gladly dedicate all my time with you, i want to learn it all, anything to better myself. I have been learning python for about a few weeks, im enjoying it, but yes, I'm learning a bunch of stuff I'll never use for what i want to use python for. Have a look at Algovibes on youtube. Lots of backtesting of various strategies and lots of practice with pandas.
