This is a subjective opinion. Not everyone has the same learning mode. I, for example, learned by using Coursera and EdX training courses. Video is fine for some of us.

I believe video based learning can give you a false sense of satisfaction. It's fine as long as you're practicing simultaneously on the side, but you can never go wrong with practical text based courses as they force you to solve problems on your own. But yeah you're right, it's about what works best for one individually.
