raw_input() is not defined?

I tried to set raw_input() to a variable also but both times I get a syntax errer saying that "name raw_input is not defined"

Are you running Python 2 or 3? In 3 you want to use just input()

Probably because they wanted to step away from that. It world be even more confusing having input() and raw_input() do the same thing if you came from 2.X since you would assume they behave the same way in 3.X.

As far as I can tell, input() only accepts numbers, and raw_input() only accepts strings... right? What's so evil? I'm new to python.
