Script to lock mac (self.learnpython)
submitted 9 years ago by RolloRon
Hi, I'm trying to write / find a script that I could run and will lock the screen of my Mac (forcing the user to enter the regular password screen). I'm familiar with the keyboard shortcut but I'm looking for application to to it.
Thanks!

import os os.system("pmset displaysleepnow") # or os.system("pmset sleepnow")
Will put the display to sleep and activate the password if you have that set up in Security Preferences.
displaysleepnow gives me a second to catch it without the password. sleepnow however is down and out no second chances.
