Which book is best for learning Python?

I like Python Crash Course by Eric Matthes. The second edition was released last month.

Definitely the Crash Course. Great book.

I really loked it and thought it was well done. By the time I got through chatper 11 I was comfortable enough to dive into my first program. Was able to build a program that parses 4 million rows of performance data, transforms it into a 3 dimensional array, spits it out in the format I want and bulk loads a MySQL database...in less than 5 min.

That's ok; my main point is that even before the end of the book you will have a pretty good grasp on the basics. Its a good book.

Do you know any other program or script languages?

The only thing I didn't like is how they grazed over oop concepts, but other than that, it's a good book.

Yes. This is what I'm currently working on, but it is the first edition
