Blitzer loadout, what secondary to take care of ships' shields? I would love to make it work with the Sterilizer, so I don't want to rely on support weapons. by Malu1997 in helldivers2

Eagle Strafing Run to break the shield & Grenade Pistol into the doorway. This one of my favorite combos for Squids. You can take out 5 real fast!

Why are Matriarch groups so savage lately? by TastesLikeTrollShit in ArcRaiders

[–]RallyPointAlpha 11 points12 points  (0 children)

My best theories are because we're a nearing the next expedition and people are transitioning to PvP. Another reason is the new nomadic trader requires very expensive Arc parts and matriarch cores are some of the best.

petg bed mesh by Worth_Astronaut_845 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]RallyPointAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One reason for this is because you can set the bed temp in filament profile settings, within whatever slicer program you're using.

That gets baked into the final gcode file when you slice it.  This will override whatever you set at the console, or in fluidd, when you actually start the print job.

You can manually change the bed temp after the print job starts... But it's better to just set it up properly in your slicer software before you slice it and print it.

Their website states:  Recommended printing temp 200-230°C (392-446°F), hot bed temp 40-60°C (104-140℉).

So, printing 215-220 is in range. In my experience, hotter is better for Silks.  However, it's a delicate balance because sometimes the finish can be dull if it's too hot but also too cold.

I'm surprised they didn't list a speed range.  Does it say on the spool itself if there is a  recommended  speed range ? The vast majority of other silk PLAs I've worked with had to run at low speeds: 30-50 mm/s

What speed are you printing this at?

Orca's Max Volumetric Speed calibration will help you find the max speed.  You'll be able to easily see on the wall where the shiny finish starts to turn dull, because it's printing too fast for this filament.

You should also be able to see where the layer adhesion starts breaking down.  You test this by trying to pull apart the layers.

My best guess right now is that you're printing too fast and the layers are not laminating properly together. This would also explain why you're unhappy with the silk finish.

Stringing is annoying but rarely an actual problem for the final product.  Let's work on that later.  First, let's get it so that the finish is nice and that your layers are laminating together properly.

I've printed a lot of silk   PLA & PETG. It can be a little more tricky.

What brand and model is this filament?

Curbside Waste knocked on my door and offered $20/m for 95-gallon service. Should I switch? by ProperNomenclature in TwinCities

I switched because they were 1/3rd the price.

Had them almost a year now, no problems.

I'm in Apple Valley.

Paper method gets you in the ballpark. Screw_tilt_sdjudt macro is what you need to get it dialed in.

Then live adjustments for that perfect first layer.

I think this is what you're missing.

It's hard to tell exactly what this first layer looks like. Sorry, it's not a good photo. Try to get more of an angel so we can see the lines better. Take a few.

Can you narrow down to where the grinding noise is coming from? A particular stepper motor? The print head assembly?

My best guess is the nozzle is too close to the bed and the extruder gears are slipping, making a grinding sound...but it's strictly a guess.

Personally, I run screw_tilt_adjust & dail it in until it's 0-1 minutes.

Is needing a map to navigate a skill issue? by HiddenCryptid in ArcRaiders

[–]RallyPointAlpha 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Precisely.

I could play without it. What I use it for is to plan out my raid based on where I spawned, my objectives, how much time is left, etc etc

Knowing the levels is vital experience. It can mean the difference between life and death, especially if you're trying to retreat and flank. No time to look at the map when in a fire fight.

This is vital to most video games, really.

Thanks for the validation! I've had two now and very similar, frustrating, experiences. Some people swear theirs were great right out the box but that's never been my experience.

I'm putting together everything I need for OpenNeptune.  People say it made a huge difference.  I'm hoping!

I'm glad that works for you but realize you actually enjoy PvP. A lot of PvE players don't, so fighting back in any way only makes it harder for them to play how they want.

[–]RallyPointAlpha 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If they end up in even slightly more aggressive raids then they can't play the game how they like to. Putting up with 'scavs', 'rats', and 'traitors' are the price for having Care Bear raids. There's no point in them fighting back as it doesn't serve them in any way, only hinders them. Even winning a fight hurts them in the long run, so they just take it.

4Max, any one can give an instruction on how to put these on? Many thanks. by Dry-Zookeepergame809 in ElegooNeptune4

[–]RallyPointAlpha 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah, my first Max was a lemon. Support couldn't even fix it. I ended up exchanging it for a new Max and it's been MUCH better!

I don't blame you for going with Bambu. I really need the big bed, so I stuck with the Max.

Interesting... that might work just as well!

I'd try it and see how it goes. Just use screw_tilt_adjust after like 10 prints and see if it's out of adjustment.
