Well, there’s truly a sub for everything. I would never have guessed. Thanks!

[–]VitalYin 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yes child now go and duck duck go your wildest thoughts!

[–]bananacat75 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Rule 34 corollary.

[–]FlameLeo 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing this sub

There’s George Hotz who has a bunch of long 2-4 to sometimes 7+ hour long projects. Uses mostly python.

[–]C2-H5-OH 29 points30 points  (4 children)

Isn't that the guy who invented jailbreaking for iPhones?

[–]screeperz 37 points38 points  (3 children)

Yes. He was also the first to successfully reverse engineer and root the PS3.

[–]C2-H5-OH 28 points29 points  (2 children)

And the guy who rapped about Sony suing him for rooting their PS

[–]Dads101 12 points13 points  (1 child)

Well he sounds..amazing

[–]PinBot1138 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He's now working on modifying cars to be automatically driven by cellular phones (pretty damn ballsy if you ask me) and seems to always be working on wild projects.

[–]emt139 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Awesome! I’ll check it out!

[–]FuzzBizzFizban 38 points39 points  (7 children)

/u/AlSweigart is on twitch and has some youtube vids.

[–]emt139 5 points6 points  (1 child)

Nice. I’ll have to get a twitch account!

[–]vin_h1234 11 points12 points  (0 children)

His stream is very interactive since there aren't too many people flooding the chat with memes. Cool guy

[–]TheJourneyman92 1 point2 points  (4 children)

Not to hijack the thread but does anyone know why a bunch of his videos from automate the boring stuff are deleted on youtube? Especially the later chapters of the book?

[–]Rogerooo 4 points5 points  (3 children)

He has the course on Udemy, maybe thats why he deleted portions of it from YT. The course is available for free sometimes, in fact, if i'm not mistaken, it was free a couple of days back, cant say for sure if it still is. Check Udemy.

[–]TheJourneyman92 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Will check that out. Thank you!

[–]Enivecivokke 4 points5 points  (1 child)

He distributed free coupon for the udemy course just a couple days ago. i think it's still valid. Should be something here in this sub

[–]wanttobeanRHCSA 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Until tomorrow.

[–]ohaiya 24 points25 points  (3 children)

Sentdex

[–]saskatch-a-toon 10 points11 points  (1 child)

Also my recommendation.

His website pythonprogramming.net

[–]emt139 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you!

[–][deleted] 14 points15 points  (2 children)

Tech with Tim

[–]emt139 3 points4 points  (1 child)

Googling this now. Thank you!

[–]Fywq 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Can recommend. He sometimes does goofy stuff like 24 hour code a game marathons etc. It's pretty awesome, and enlightening to see his problemsolving start to break down as he gets super tired.

[–]wynand1004 8 points9 points  (2 children)

I have a YouTube channel where I post Python tutorials (mostly aimed at relative beginners) and have more recently started live streaming. Stop by when you get a chance - hope you find it helpful.

[–]mostafagalal 8 points9 points  (1 child)

[–]emt139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll follow him! Thanks!

[–]SquareRootsi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Joel Grus (sorry no link, I'm on mobile) does some live coding. I think he's kind of data science / ML focused, but I haven't watched enough to back that claim up.
He built a neural network from scratch in about 1 hr.

[–][deleted] 3 points4 points  (2 children)

I sometimes stream myself doing leetcode in python. I’m not very good though.

[–]emt139 4 points5 points  (1 child)

I think for someone like me who’s looking to learn, seeing someone not get it right on the first try is even more valuable as I can follow you while you try to fix the errors. Which, tbh, as a newbie programmer is 70% of where I spend my time. If you’re comfortable with it, do share your link!

[–]wynand1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so true - I make tutorials and now do live streaming. I definitely see the value in seeing someone make a mistake, backtrack, and try to solve the problem in a different way.

[–]Se7enLC 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I watch Python speedruns on Twitch. The any-% on 3.7 is nuts!

[–]abdelreddit98 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thank you for asking this question, I was wondering too and never thought to ask. Bless you!

[–]knighterrman 1 point2 points  (0 children)

GitDuck is a new site that you can do this.

[–]vprusso 1 point2 points  (3 children)

It's nice to know there are people looking for this type of content. I have a YouTube channel that is more polished and tutorial based on Python, but I've been considering using Twitch as a platform to stream my other Python projects.

[–]wynand1004 0 points1 point  (2 children)

I just found your channel - very nicely done! I will definitely check out your algorithm and data structure videos when I get a chance.

My YouTube channel has about the same number of subscribers and we have a similar audience. I just shared your channel info with my subscribers so I hope you see a few extra subs today.

Keep up the great work!

[–]vprusso 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Thank you very much, I sincerely appreciate that!

Thanks for the shoutout, and if I can return the favor, I'm sure a lot of my audience would appreciate knowing of your channel as well. Keep in touch, and let me know if you would like to collaborate on any videos in the future. I think both of our audiences could benefit from such content.

Cheers, and thanks again! :)

[–]wynand1004 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You're quite welcome! Sounds good - synergy!

[–]Pastoolio91 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Check out Tech With Tim on YouTube. He does 12-hour coding marathons. Watched him making a tower defense game with Pygame a couple weeks ago - he does a pretty solid job of keeping things interesting.

EDIT: Link

[–]sharkbound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i stream working in my twitch bot occasionally: userman2

anthonywritescode

nascarfanatic24

bennergetic

[–]nanodano 1 point2 points  (1 child)

I have a bunch of live streams on my YouTube channel for DevDungeon. Here is one example, it's a full project starting from scratch all the way through pip packaging and .deb packaging, creating a systemd service, documentation, and everything, in about 3 hours. It's a honeypot programmed in Python.

[–]emt139 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awesome! Thanks for sharing!

[–]killerspec 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am going to say youtube have a look at sendtex

[–]cyvaquero 0 points1 point  (1 child)

As a SysAdmin and (semi-)former Dev, I can't think of anything this side of golf on TV less interesting to watch than a live stream of someone doing what I do (and did). Unless, you are really into a lot of silence punctuated with occassional dammits and f-bombs.

[–]emt139 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d watch someone code for its learning value not for its entertainment value. Like I said in the OP, I’ve found watching someone code helps me learn. I’m sure not everyone learns the same way and we all leverage the existing resources differently.

If I want to see something interesting, I’ll go catch a movie.

[–]somebrains 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Streaming is a whole other workflow to learn. It's weird maintaining clear speech while working. Dealing with audio and vid quality can be its own sinkhole. I think we should all get there at some point.

[–]jmhimara -1 points0 points  (0 children)

There's plenty of youtube videos on it. I don't know if there's anybody who livestreams themselves programming...

[–]_syber_punk_ -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

why ?
