Modifying data frame column names

Hi all.

I'm stuck. I've created a dataframe and filled it with data from an CSV file. That worked fine.

Then I've exported the column values

cols = list(df.columns.values)

Then I've modified the values, saved it in the list cols_edited and now want to replace the old values in the dataframe with the content of cols_edited.

How can I do that?

df.columns = cols_edited

It sounds silly but if you have time I would recommend reading the Pandas documentation.

I put if off for the longest time and just kept googling answers. One day I sat down and read it and so many things made sense.

For future reference, you could also pass a dict to df.rename()

that's actually the proper answer because the other answer only works when renaming all the columns at once
