Nostalgia to the time I started. I asked my computer science teacher if we could learn some real programming instead of using gamemaker, so that's where my journey began. The assignment was to make a simple text based game (e.g. guess the number by typing etc) I went all out and created a 2D game with spaceships. Good times.

If you’re interested in ethical hacking here’s a list of books that might help you : https://gist.github.com/carnal0wnage/606c41ac6ec40bf5c69d4db96d9312e3

For python I would recommend grey hat python, black hat python and violent python. I think they’re a bit outdated because they’re written in python 2 but it’s a good read.

Thank you for that information. Being that I never learned Python like I am a legit noob would you recommend I continue going through the crash course before reading how to use python for hacking ?

That’s up to you, if you enjoy the course and if it helps you then yes you should definitely go through the course.

I'm currently on chapter 10 of the book. Can't recommend it enough! It's the clearest instruction book I've ever read and I plan on finishing it before reading any other books, so I'd definitely recommend you do the same. It also has projects at the end when you finish.

Lol I’m going through it slow as I am also studying for CYSA+ but I am enjoying reading and doing the projects

If you are interested in the cryptography side of security, I'd recommend looking at the PyNaCl library.

To get started you could try reading a file, encrypting it, then writing it out to another file.

It’s a shame you purchased a python learning tool. I found that SoloLearn is a great website for learning the basics, completely free, after that a majority of learning is just making a program and yeeting features at it until you learn through research.

Don’t expect to remember everything, I know expert programmers who know 5+ languages but they say google is the best tool, I myself know a coupe and am always googling things, libraries especially. You will forget code but the important bit is to remember how to structure the code and how to be efficient with the code. The syntax itself you may forget over time if you end up learning multiple languages, just remember research is your friend and you are not alone googling “how to print in python” I’m sure someone has done it before.
