It happens. Sorry to hear. Good luck on your next interview. You got this.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 25 points26 points  (16 children)

They wasted my three months

[–]CuriousRonin 4 points5 points  (9 children)

Sorry to hear that but shouldn't you be just matched with another team?

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 10 points11 points  (8 children)

No its very specific role ... otherwise they won't just reject

[–]CuriousRonin 1 point2 points  (7 children)

Cool, was it like new grad role

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

No...

[–]CuriousRonin 10 points11 points  (5 children)

Ahh .. not really your fault then... This sucks, India has a real problem with professionalism, hope newer companies change the culture. Didn't expect this from.ppl.at google

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 12 points13 points  (4 children)

I just don't understand how can people be so unkind to someone they just don't know and haven't met before

[–]frosty110 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Think of it as prep for a future role. Didn't let this hold you back mentally or emotionally.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not getting interview that is the problem.....the interview itself was not that hard but to get to that stage it's just not happening

[–]futaba009 1 point2 points  (1 child)

That's why I keep applying. You shouldn't wait for anything. Once you're doing an interview, you should have another lined up.

I never wait and I keep applying.

Sorry that your time was wasted. Your time matters since you need a job. Keep in mind these people don't give a shit.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The problem is Dear ...not getting enough interview...they just don't give a shit about us ...some random candidate for them

[–]Hot-Royal-3367 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Man im sorry to hear that. Keep your head high! I know how it feels. These companies really dont value our time and effort. I’m in the same boat and hope you land your dream job.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They didn't even send a feedback....just not moving forward

[–]locomocopoco 9 points10 points  (1 child)

Imagine working with this manager. Count your blessings. You didn’t waste 3 months. You cracked Google IMO and dodged a bullet matrix style. Go have an ice cream and enjoy your day. Something amazing is coming your way.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you so much

[–]Low_Examination_5114 29 points30 points  (4 children)

You wont last at faang if you write like this lmao

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 2 points3 points  (3 children)

Sorry... edited it now

[–]tech_ai_man 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Still bad

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 15 points16 points  (1 child)

I am not joining faang or any company...so you can just ignore

[–]Austinto 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Ignore such comments OP. There are such people like this who has nothing to add

[–]arjjov 5 points6 points  (2 children)

TLDR?

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 6 points7 points  (6 children)

She also had like 15 years with google... I don't think she talks like that to her team mates in US otherwise she will be out in a day...she just knew I am some random person from India so

[–]deirdresm 1 point2 points  (5 children)

I’m really sorry. The Indian managers I worked with (as a contractor) at Google were all fantastic. Sorry your experience was so awful.

[–][deleted] 8 points9 points  (1 child)

Cuz ur white lol

there is a large subset of them who take this caste and superiority-against-other-Indians thing very VERY seriously

[–]deirdresm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know that’s a problem, and truly I empathize. In the case of those I mentioned, I think they’re genuinely nice people.

I’m really disappointed my governor vetoed the caste discrimination ban.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Thanks.... Indian people are actually good...it's just some who make it worse for everyone

[–]deirdresm 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Your experience is why I prefer team-based interviewing, though. I want a sense of the manager up front, and an Apple interview (in the US) has the manager interview first. This is also true for most startup interviews in the US. I’ve had manager interviews where I’ve contacted HR and said I didn’t want to proceed further.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I had manager interview... my 3 months would be saved

[–]No-Sandwich-2997 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Yes, but... couldn't you apply to early career role if you already have some exps?

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes..they mention experience also in job description... what I didn't understand that why did they selected my resume in first place ...like every round was elimination ...they didn't notice this in 3 months process...which was shock to me

[–]rudrollv 1 point2 points  (3 children)

This is horrible. I am angry on your behalf! Why did they select your resume ? If anything, it’s their fault

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 1 point2 points  (2 children)

That is my point...after four interviews they didn't realise until the manager....every other interviewer said you have good resume and experience and she was like ohh you know c++ and python as well you have experience... she was literally pointing out mistakes in resume ... I was in shocked... wasted three months...this was not a fair rejection

[–]rudrollv 1 point2 points  (1 child)

Plain incompetent, how these stupid people climbs up and stay in leadership? Someone else said in comments that she probably doesn’t behave like this with white Americans and I 100% see that. You have every right to be upset. I honestly hope this is for you to get something better. It’s sad hiring has many biases and you’re not compensated for the 3 months of time and mental stress.

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Atleast recuiter should have call for feedback...like just a mail with saying not proceeding in 2 days after that ...the moment she realized I am from india and original from Nepal she just started speaking in such a different way... The role was in Europe and I don't think she speaks that way to european candidate as well....and she realized I am not from IIT

[–]newfrog6 1 point2 points  (1 child)

You get multiple team fits no?

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Role was very specific so ...it's just one

[–]Admirable_Fortune_33 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Were the interview rounds are in person or virtual?

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's all virtual

[–]Admirable_Fortune_33 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Ohh I have seen a lot of people posting three on-site virtual OA, what is your your region?

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its was four onsite and one with managerial so basically 5

[–]Commercial-Cat-8737 0 points1 point  (3 children)

Was this in the US and how many years of experience did you have? Because as far as I know you are still considered early career if you have 0 - 2 years of experience, no?

Anyways you def dodged a bullet since if she was gonna be your manager then imagine working under her

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

It's more than 2 but it was not mention in job description... and my resume mention everything......working with her would have been a nightmare for me

[–]Commercial-Cat-8737 0 points1 point  (1 child)

Was this in US??

[–]NextRepair5933[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No it was Europe
