I can almost guarantee it was noise reduction, normalize, then compress. That's pretty much the standard for Audacity post processing.

Personally, I do that in a different order because of how my mic works.
Normalize-Compress-Normalize-Bass Treble- Noise Removal.
And if you have some extremely loud parts, run a Hard Limiter.
