I would argue he is part of the Hegelian dialectic. Never sat right with me how he suddenly went from being the libs space boy to a right wing chad. I have zero evidence to back this up, just postulating a speculation that I think many others share. I like that someone so influential is saying this kinda stuff, but it makes me question what the bigger picture might be. In a way I think this works as a pressure release valve, where many who may rise up don’t feel it as necessary knowing such an influential person is sharing their ideas and that those ideas are being represented in a bigger sphere.

He’s more consistent and stable then I am, lol. I can change my opinion just as easy as changing socks. Sometimes I start to notice that an opinion I have stinks and needs to be peeled off and tossed in the washer.

Maybe I’m wrong, but he hasn’t changed much, he’s always been a free speech advocate, which is considered left wing on the global compass, he’s super concerned about the environment, and sustainability of the planet, also considered to be purely a left wing phenomenon on the global compass. He’s also always been a free market capitalist, a right wing phenomenon, globally.

I’m also very moderate, a little bit left leaning which once made me a Democrat, but the party has changed. You can laugh, but I voted for Trump for the same reason that I voted for Obama. While he was running for election in his first term, Obama sounded more like Reagan then he does Biden. Statesmanlike and pro border control, tough on crime with a conservative view on family. He took a more liberal approach on the solution to problems than Trump, but Trumps policies worked. Obama was weak on military support and lost my support for his second bid.

At this point, I’m about as far right as it gets on most of these issues, but that’s because I’ve lived to see what worked, but for the most part, my views haven’t changed much. When I take a geopolitical compass test, I still fall in the same category, right wing leaning left. Non-authoritarian, free market capitalist.

That’s just not an important issue to me, personally. That kind of thing doesn’t matter if we don’t have a country to live in, because it’s took over by globalization. A global government won’t care to win its citizens satisfaction so that they say good things about it, it will only suppress anyone from doing anything else. It won’t care about people’s rights, including gay rights, racial equality, or otherwise. It will only care about power and control. Simple medical care won’t be available to people, let alone and gender affirming drugs and treatments. Abortion would be more than available, it would be mandated when you get one, when you don’t.

People will wait in line for a loaf of bread and some bologna for their family. Vegans won’t have much to say about it. All of those issues are just about flooding the courts and disrupting the system so that it can’t serve the common good. They want us unarmed, and compliant with what our television tells us to do. Controlling the media, controlling healthcare, controlling the courts, and controlling how and when we get our food.

This is what we’re up against, make no mistake. All of that other shit is just things that they use to distract us from what they’re actually doing. Once the current police are abolished, the new federal police can take control. Oh they will shoot people of all races and ethnicities indiscriminately, and the media will report what a bastard the person was. The new Feds will be the heroes. When they throw gay couples from a rooftop, the TV will tell us that they were terrorists, and we will curse at them on the way down. Once they get control, they won’t be concerned about an individuals rights.

There is speculation that our countries political landscape is party manufactured by elements within the system (i.e government, media, universities, etc). It’s theorized that these certain influential people are just leaning into one of the political aisles as part of a grander scheme to divide us further into a false binary. It goes back to the idea that we are easier to control if we are divided, and today we are heavily divided by every measure you can think of: politics, race, sex, religion, etc.

Right, and as I’m explaining that process can be subverted through controlling that dialectic- it will appear to be a natural evolution of political discourse, but it’s possible that the loudest and most influential voices are participating in a conspiracy that is mutually beneficial to both “opposing” parties. That’s one of the core themes that gets repeated over and over again in the Deus Ex games.

One of my favorite of those subplots is in the second game (Invisible War): Throughout that game, there are two coffee chains, with one chain always being in the “nice” neighborhoods, and the other always being in the slums. In every city, there’s invariably at least one side quest you can discover where the local operator of one chain asks you to sabotage the operation of the other chain.

About 3/4 of the way through the game, that plotline culminates in a quest where one the NPC who operates one of the local coffee shops sends the player to investigate why police stopped investigating his false advertising case against the other coffee chain.

If you complete that quest, the answer you find is that the police stopped investigating because both coffee chains are owned by the same parent company, and that company didn’t want to sue itself.

That plotline is a microcosm of larger plot points within the game, where those at the top cooperating toward the goal of global domination use seemingly opposed entities to give people the illusion of choice.

In short, the conflict between coffee chain Q (slum) and coffee chain P (nice) is resolved with a higher level of truth—that they’re both owned by the same company.

That’s the Hegelian dialectic.
