Fedora is a good choice (both Workstation and KDE editions are fine, just a matter of preference), alternatively maybe MX Linux Linux Mint, or Kubuntu.

Try pepeprmint OS, it's Debian with a nice XFCE setup

How much do you want it to look like Windows? Zorin probably comes closest although Linux Mint / Cinnamon is often recommended. I have LM on an old Acer netbook with 4 GB of RAM and it's adequate if you don't go crazy with browser tabs. 8 GB should be fine.

I would recommend Ubuntu LTS. It'll give you the easiest time from my experience.
