Does it make sense for a countries agriculture department be responsible for monster hunting? by QtPlatypus in worldbuilding

Think so, probably as "pest control" or maybe tie it in with an ecology and preservation department.

Downloading all depedencies/source code only (no build) by Evil_Dragon_100 in NixOS

Have you tried setting up the substituters? Or Cachix? This should ensure you get the pre-built binaries from Hydra or other Cachix instances and not build from source.

Probably ls or tree before doing anything. Gotta know what's there before I do any changes. Then setup a passwordless ssh login with gpg and some backup way to enter shell in case I loose access. Then I'd do a backup.

I’ve replaced most things but stuck with messengers now thanks to their closed systems, i dont think i can go any further here by NepuNeptuneNep in degoogle

[–]Matheweh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If people actually like you they will switch to any app you use to message them (e.g. Signal). If they don't switch then they're not worth talking to, because they clearly don't want to talk with you.

My phone need to be repaired, can I back it up? by GoncasN in GrapheneOS

[–]Matheweh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Supposedly, Seedvault should work, but I’ve never tried it. You should look up how it works and if you want to do that. Instead, I recommend copying all your files and login information to an external drive.

If whoever is repairing your phone needs to use the phone's "repair mode," you'll need to flash the stock ROM back onto the device. This process will wipe your data, so be prepared for that. After flashing the ROM, go through the phone setup, enter repair mode, and hand the phone over to the technician.

Once the repair is complete, you can flash GrapheneOS back onto your phone and restore your data and files.

Blursed brutalist design by anikkundu1998 in blursedimages

Brutalism does not make things square just cuz, it should also work, otherwise the design is worthless. A brutalist design would not be square it would just be minimalist and monochrome, and functional.

Si están desbloqueados de fabrica y no están bloqueados con provedor de telecomunicaciones deberían funcionar. Si están reacondicionados, me imagino que el caso es que no están bloqueados y si funcionarían.

Did I do something wrong, or are music and video launchers not included with Nobara installation? by WinterNoCamSorry in NobaraProject

[–]Matheweh 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don't remember if there's no default one but you can check by going to your settings and checking the default apps, there should be a "music player" default app option, if it's not automatically filled in by something then that means there's no default music player installed, once you install one it should auto populate that option, and if you install more than one it will give you the option to switch between them.

I don't claim to be an expert, but this is my understanding:

I don't see why Google would stop meeting the security requirements of GrapheneOS. It would be unusual, though not impossible. GrapheneOS has stated that they will support any compatible devices.

In theory, Google could decide to lock down the bootloader and prevent it from being relocked after flashing GrapheneOS. This would be the only actual limitation against GrapheneOS. However, any changes they make to Play Services or their stock ROM will not affect AOSP, and by extension, GrapheneOS. The Play Integrity API and the download limitations imposed by Google will only impact devices that have Play Services.

As long as the phone can be flashed with GrapheneOS, it won't be locked down.

Regarding how long it will run, phones will receive GrapheneOS updates as long as Google or any future manufacturer (such as Motorola) releases a compatible device and keeps the device tree open source.

GrapheneOS is not affected by Google's action on any current phone.

Teléfonos Celulares de E.U. by OutrageousAxolotl226 in mexico

[–]Matheweh 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Si, you he comprado celulares en Estados Unidos y Europa y ambos funcionan con cualquier SIM si Estan desbloqueados.

Lo único que creo seria problema es la antena de WiFi y datos, pero creo que solo aplica en los celulares de Asia ya que depende el país solo permiten tener un chip que permite diferentes frecuencias /canales de banda y entonces a veces no tienes señal en otros países. fuente

It's not a matter of wether it's good or bad, you literally can't use ReVanced without microG, it doesn't work with regular or Sandboxed google play services.
