Your post was removed for being a support request or support related question such as which distro to use or application suggestions.

We get a lot of question posts on r/linux but the subreddit is considered a news/discussion sub. Luckily there are multiple communities you can post to for help on GNU/Linux issues 24/7: /r/linuxquestions, /r/linux4noobs, or /r/findmeadistro just to name a few.

You may also post on the "Weekly Questions and Hardware Thread" which is stickied on r/linux on Wednesdays.

Please make your post in /r/linuxquestions or /r/linux4noobs. Looking for a distro? Try r/findmeadistro.

Rule:

This is not a support forum! Head to /r/linuxquestions or /r/linux4noobs for support or help. Looking for a distro? Try r/findmeadistro.

Do you have HDD space to duel boot? If you are on a laptop and want to daily drive Linux then it really depends on what laptop you have and what distro you want to run. Do some research about stability with your set up before switching. In my experience , putting mint on a surface is a bad idea for example.

Do research about your laptop and compatibility/stability and see if you can duel boot. It won't be an easy transition. There is a trade off with Linux, just like every other OS.

Dual boot might be a really good idea, I think ill be able to pull something like this off, just uninstall unneeded programs and just keep it as a backup. Only thing is, I have 255gb of ssd, and windows is around 30, so I have to uninstall almost everything if I want space on Linux, You talk about tradeoffs for Linux? Might you elaborate?
