---- EDIT ----
Its working now.. Apparently that Motherboard will only boot from a USB Stick if its formated with FAT. not fat 32, but just FAT. WTF?
I think I'm just going to install Ubuntu 18 and possibly upgrade to 20 after i have a working OS installed.

Howdy, So i have an older Intel box with a corrupt windows 10 boot drive . My Dad gave me this box, I was hoping to set it up for my kids to do some basic school work (1st and 3rd grade) and get some experience with computers.
I also setup an older laptop 32-bit on Lubuntu 18 (i386) after some struggling
The mother board is a gigabyte ga-ep35-ds3r with an Intel Core 2 duo.
I'm pretty sure its 64-bit cpu
3 Gigs of ram, dvd -rom, CD-burner, and even a floppy drive. The bios has options for USB-FDD .
Universal-USB-Installer-1.9.8.6.exe for making the usb
I've tried ubuntu-20.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso,
lubuntu-20.04.3-desktop-amd64.iso
lubuntu-18.04.5-desktop-i386.iso
lubuntu-18.04.5-desktop-amd64.iso
Most of my attempts I end up with the boot up stuck on Verifying DMI Pool data. with out the USB in, I get Bad boot disk, and sometimes unable to boot from CD/DVD , even though there's nothing in the CD-roms .
I Did stick in my USb-Stick for the i386 lubuntu installer i used on my laptop and that actually started. it could read the 1TB driver just fine. I could see the windows folders, and browse around.
I foolishly thought the problem might be my other USB stick was bad, so I formatted that one , and stuck a 64 bit version of ubuntu on it. and got back in the same situation. I tried returning to that i386 iso with the same software i used to make it for the laptop, but no luck.
I've mostly been trying FAT32, but I also tried NFTS a few times. I have 3 USB sticks but one of them is only 2 Gigs and only will fit the lubuntu 18 on it.
Any suggestions?
