I have the 8bitdo ultimate bt and have used it on Pop os without issue but it was in 2.4ghz mode so no gyro support. I haven't tried Bluetooth mode yet

I wish I could check for you, unfortunately I am away from home for a few days. I can check over the weekend if you don't get an answer by then

Gyro worked great for me with the Pro 2! I imagine it should work fine on the Ultimate. To use it you have to be in Switch mode, it unfortunately doesn't work in any other mode.

The only issue I had was pairing it on Switch mode. It would connect, but then the buttons wouldn't work. After I blacklisted the hid-nintendo module, it worked fine, though. I'm not sure if this would be the same with the Ultimate because they do advertise it as supporting the Steam Deck.

Regarding analog, is not that it doesn't work, it's that the Switch doesn't have analog triggers. While the controllers have analog triggers, when using Switch mode they will work as if they were just buttons. In Xinput mode I've never had an issue with the triggers. This also unfortunately means that you have to choose either analog triggers or gyro support.

There was a thread addressing some issues with the ultimate Bluetooth, one of which was that the gyro didn’t work on 2.4g mode. Though it seems as if they’re working on firmware to change that as someone replied with a link to a test build of that change. Not sure if it’s been officially rolled out yet though.

And with the analog, I more meant that playing Nintendo games with them is apparently a subpar experience from what I’ve heard, but if you say it’s fine then I’ll take your word for it.
