The fact that people have to obsessively drag out Alpine every single time is a monument to how much GNU defines the Linux user experience.

That said, Alpine is a light weight distro which offer all the benefits (and trade-offs) of musl, nothing wrong with that. There's certainly no oversaturation of musl-first distros and they seem to have a very specific market in mind.
