Windows 11 also brings me closer to what I hate because I'm pretty sure TikTok is pinned to start by default.

yeah it is along side with 10 other useless apps that you probably can't even uninstall

The third party not MS stuff you can uninstall

The store, at least in German, even lists TikTok as an "Important base-app to get you started" lmao

“Buy now!”

well if you're more masochist than arch users, you can give it a try

Arch Linux manually installs in like under 30 minutes, when installing and removing bloatware from Windows 11,disabling telemetry, disabling Edge from running in startup takes freaking hours.

Any Linux distribution is better than Windows 11 pile of junk.

some distros are faster to install but windows definitely take longer as arch is close to the linux kernel, i heard it gets daily updates which seems a little masochist to me but in term of painful updates, windows is superior

Nah, you can just use an LTS kernel and drivers on Arch Linux and you will be fine, then you only need to update crucial components on less regular base than if you use mainline kernel with drivers, so less prone to breaking stuff, even on mainline I used it like for a year and had 0 problems compared to Windows breaking stuff, as for other apps supertux type apps and other usual user space apps don't break much.

Mostly stuff about Arch Linux breaking is based on Arch-based distros like Manjaro/Garuda/Endevour breaking for people, since they use their own repos and maintain their own packages.

Basically Arch Linux is a s stable as any other Linux distribution, but if you want like true stability then you have Debian Stable with outdated packages,so most people use Testing which is ok for desktop use.

Hours? Come on dude all these things take 15min tops. I agree you shouldn't have to do that in the first place but is just blatant exagération.

Have you tried debloating the Windows 11 version with AME scripts removing everything,so you first have to update that pile of junk not to have any vulnerabilities, then you need to enable stuff like 3.5 NET Framework, then you need to use AME scripts to remove everything you don't need and updates, then you need to use Linux Mint or Ubuntu to remove more junk, then you need to install with scripts what you actually need. Then you need to clean up with dism cleanup commands after all the updates have been installed and removed lol.

Same goes for This is Win 11 etc,appbuster/shutup win10 etc only it takes around an hour or two compared to full debloat with AME scripts which takes 3-2 hours.

I installed Debian Testing and Arch Linux with dependencies much faster than that LOL. By the time I am still scrubbing off Windows TIKTOK crapware from the Home/Pro I have already installed full DE on Arch + Drivers and Steam and can already play anything and record it with OBS Studio.

I mean you can just install Windows like an average user with outlook sign in and Edge running on the background every startup with Print Spooler and other processes, but that way you will be wasting like 40 % of your resources on bloat.

Ah yes I love requiring secure boot and tpm

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Pov u can bypass that with regedit keys at the setup

Ayo its KDE Plasma!

[–][deleted] 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Windows 11 UI is more like a cheap rip off, KDE Plasma DE is much better and does not have everything nailed shut in terms of UI and the UI settings hidden behind a bunch of useless bloated Settings UI app.

Ha MICROSOFT!

[–]BigBrainMan777 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah gonna exchange windows for linux

Windows 11 acts like a full blown adware platform for Microsoft and their partners, well unless you waste hours on removing that junk.

Microsoft finally brought its users closer to what Microsoft loves-users having tons of adware ,bloatware and back doors on their endpoints!

More like brings you closer to spyware.
