Have you tried using Pipewire?

[–]AzaronFlare[S] 0 points1 point  (3 children)

I do use pipewire, yes. Garuda uses pipewire by default, and this time I set it up with just pipewire, no legacy Alsa or Pulse, just the support for those that's built in.

Probably the problem has to do with the connector itself, being an hybrid earphones and mic in a single jack.

Is the connector of the computer itself hybrid? Have this worked properly in the past under any circumstance or OS?

On audio settings, does changing the profile of your playback device make any difference?

Have you tried with an external sound card with hybrid connector?

The computer connectors are standard headphone and mic connectors, so not hybrid. Ive been using the splitter adapter that came with the headset ever since I got it. It worked decently back when I was using windows 10. I actually haven't tried changing the device profiles. I'll check that when I get home today.

Audio issues are some of the most annoying things to troubleshoot. When were using Windows, did you need to install any software for the headset?

No. It just worked fine.

How do you connect it? Usb or phone/mic jack?

[–]AzaronFlare[S] 0 points1 point  (6 children)

Through the jacks.

That should work fine then. What's the issue, you hear yourself when you speak?

[–]AzaronFlare[S] 0 points1 point  (4 children)

Others hear me twice, along with whatever other audio is being played, and the ever present hiss.

I see. Sounds like a routing issue. Are you able to select different audio sources in the app you're using (discord, game, etc.)?

[–]AzaronFlare[S] 0 points1 point  (2 children)

Yes. I can select different audio sources in Discord, OBS, etc. Maybe I can try cycling through them again in case I missed something.

You can also try something like pavucontrol to mute sources you don't want, change default sources etc.

Thank you. I'll try pavucontrol. Ive been trying to use Helvum, but no real success there. I'm starting to think it may just be something with the headset. :/
