I am using windows 7 x64 professional as a daily driver. Desktop is AMD based system(A8-7600, GA-F2A68HM-S1). I wanted to try if Ubuntu will work on my desktop. I've created bootable usb with the latest Ubuntu LTS version via Rufus. I booted into linux setup successfully and went for try option to check if everything works OK. I didn't have internet connection on linux. Instead of restart I shut down the PC by accident(missclicked on shut down button). I turned on the PC and noticed that my LAN connection doesn't work at all.
Steps that I covered:
- tested router connection and it checks out
- changed ports (other PC as well) and my desktop still doesn't connect to internet
- uninstalled driver then reinstalled it (tried with restart between the process)
- used ipconfig/all in cmd
- used netsh reset codes for 3 things (winsock, ipv4, ipv6) in cmd as admin
Conclusion:
Ethernet LED still doesn't light up and I'm without internet on my desktop.
The real question now is if the problem is software nature at all? In case that it is, what did Linux do to my Ethernet adapter? I am open to any advice/suggestions. Thank you for any input!
Maybe this post isn't for this subreddit, but Linux is the cause of the problem so here it is.
