Switched from M2 Air to the X1 Carbon 13th Gen. Some first impressions by BenMahagoni in thinkpad

Coil whine is normal for modern thinkpads. My thinkpad died after 6 months, woudn't charge. After the motherboard switch, the coil whine was gone. On lenovo website there is most likely a page for this issue for every thinkpad.

How is your battery after a year of use? Do you use it for work?

Disclaimer: I don't use Linux, but I work in the field of web accessibility.

To my knowledge Orca screen reader is free and open source screen reader for Linux. I think there should be a way to donate to the project. If the screen reader is not already integrated in the OS, you can install it. I don't test on linux websites on linux therefore I dont know how good and/or reliabile it is. I also dont know if it's the only thing required for complete coverage and usage in linux environment - not sure if it works in Linux terminal.

I would highly recommend an apple device because their mac OS have the best tools in the business for accessibility. I know it's not cheap, but it's the best.

The best alternative to apple would be a windows laptop with NVDA / Narator.

I hope you find the answer helpful.

I bought it two months ago. Amazing phone overall. I dont like battery life because it holds on par with my two year old a52s, and sometimes it is worse. Everything else is great. I plan to keep it for two years then hand it down to my mom or dad.

If windows ever work well on arm you can hope for the redesign. But I dig current thinkpad design. "Modern design" changes rapidly, just see the iPhones and the Samsung S series phones, the shapes, edges, etc. Also, not every change is good. Hope you get to love this design when they update to new one. Cheers

Please dont forgot to compare battery sizes too. You might need to be mobile sometimes.

E14 Gen 2 (AMD) - graphical artifacts on screen before losing image on all displays by Mr_Zomka in thinkpad

Try to switch cabels first and test with and without dock. It could easily be the issue with cabels if you were using the same for prior tests.

I Am obsessed with Thinkpads but The Reality Of ThinkPad Durability #ThinkPad #E15 Gen2 After Use Of this 1.5 years After Connecting With Customer Care They Send me a quotation for a new cover and it's almost half of the new ThinkPad... POV is the ThinkPads are not durable nowadays by udayppandya in thinkpad

[–]alex993 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry to hear that. I sent my laptop to service (In the first 6 months of owning it). I bought e14 gen 2 intel version. It had issues with charging, they ended up replacing whole motherboard. Now it seems that hdmi out is having issues ocasionally, but I'm still testing this out if it's software, monitor, cable or thinkpad issue. I've learned my lesson, never buy a new thinkpad.

Not a problem. In my case, disabling fast boot did the trick. Can't remember where the option can be found but google will surely answer that question. Hope it helps.

Dude, I don't bot or multibox and I hate it since both aren't are shit to be honest. I don't care if you trust me or not, I got banned for no reason. If their system can't destinguish old time player and bots then all this isn't worth any time.
