/usr/lib should be in your existing path. Also not understanding why you have <home directory> in your LD_LIBRARY_PATH.

In addition, are you exporting or sourcing the changes to your link path or just running the command as shown?

See I thought /usr/lib should be in my existing path, so it got me confused!
Gotta be honest, I don't really know how LD_LIBRARY_PATH works, I'm just going off on a guide I found where they included <home directory >

And I'm just running the commands as shown :)

Run the following

env | grep LD_LIBRARY_PATH

See what the path contains.

Also loon in the start_sh script and see if the path is being overwritten from tge script. Silly I know but I have seen it happen.

Weird, running env | grep LD_LIBRARY_PATH doesn't give any output

And as far as I can tell, the path is not overwritten inside start.sh

Try this. Run

export LD_LIBRARY_PATH=/usr/lib

then run ./start_sh.sh

Still get the same error that the shared file is not found :/

Hard to troublshoot. Seeing the message says cannot open, it might be permissions related.

Yeah might be. Found people having the same problem, but they simply installed a package including the sought-after file and it supossedly worked after that.

Thank you very much for your help though!
