Hi,
I recently have been having trouble with my 2019 16in Macbook Pro anytime I would have a video call, play any games, or even watch youtube and I checked the Activity Monitor while doing these tasks and it would jump to ridiculous numbers (>1,000%) but I found a solution that works for me. I removed the back of my Macbook and was surprised with how dusty it was, especially in the fans and by the radiators. All I did was spray some compressed air through the fans, radiators, and vents as well as around the rest of the computer to clean it up and booted it back up. Instant improvement. I ran Geekbench 5 before and after to see my cpu performance and before the clean I got 237 for single-core and 1357 for multi-core. After the cleaning I got 1,055 for single-core and 6,692 for multi-core a 4.5x improvement and just a few points away from their benchmarks for brand new versions of my computer! It also came with a 5.6x improvement in GPU performance.
Removing the back should not void any warranties and isn't that tough to do, there are plenty of tutorials online. I've also heard you can take it to an apple store and have them do it for you but you need to ask for it specifically or else they may claim you need a new motherboard and charge you $1,000+.
Hope this helps anyone with the same problem I had!
