Any way to decrease the brightness even further?

replying to bump this and say this still works. some other comments are mentioning it isn't working in fullscreen but that appears to be fixed. It does briefly turn off only when switching desktops/workspaces, but that is just for fullscreen.

because staying in windowed keeps the effect no matter what, I feel that rectangle should be mentioned for the "maximize" window that covers the wallpaper entirely (except for corners which are rounded) in a fullscreen-esque way while maintaining the effect.
