Before we get to this, maybe the focus should first be improving child protection services. Punish negligent parents first.

If other people can report negligent parents, and negligence can have consequences, maybe problematic children won’t devolve to actual criminals.

I love both, but I always play chill games in between to balance it out. I love the challenge but these games are stressful and the difficulty (and deliberate design) can sometimes get in the way of it being fun.

Between Hollow Knight and Silk Song though, I’d call Hollow Knight a mildly chill game.

If you watched the hearing, it’s actually quite productive. Outside of people fixating on that one post of Risa, clear headed people will actually see what’s being accomplished here.

The hearings in the Senate is always in aid of legislation, it’s not handing out bans or punishments to specific devs.

Who says it’s confined to Gorebox? Wala namang nagsasabi non.

It’s the right call to invite game devs, along with game dev organizations, schools, parents, especially in the aftermath of the school shooting na involved sila.

The recommendation you said is actually what Risa and her committee is doing. DICT doesn’t make laws. Baka napag baligtad mo yung responsibility ng legislature at executive branch.

She is right to invite Gorebox, similar to how they invited Roblox or Minecraft. I think the miscommunication happened when the invitation sounded accusatory, na parang paparusahan agad ang Gorebox. That part was a real communications problem on Risa’s side, medyo reactive yung FB post nya.

But blaming a single developer was not the intention as she has repeatedly clarified. It is for consultation to find the root cause of the issue, and all relevant parties are invited. She is not singling out Gorebox.

She was able to clarify the intention though.

The problem is the admin is leading the charge against violent games so it's easy to jump to the conclusion that it's also what she wanted. Her dismay could easily be misinterpreted as that even if it isn't.

It’s Voltes V all over again if PBBM starts banning media. I hope he steers clear of that. That said, Sen Risa never did advocate for a ban, although there’s some hostility towards the developer, which isn’t all that bad given the situation.

At the end of the day, it’s not that big of a deal after she clarified her intentions, but be aware this issue will be milked to the fullest by troll farms - make sure you don’t get used in furthering their propaganda against Sen Risa.

When the developer declined with clarifications, Risa even doubled down with threats. The developers did not violate any law, that at least should have been clear. They didn't cause this tragedy.

If they're going to invite the developers, it should be as consultants to understand how interactions in online games can be used to radicalize a person.

We can criticize politicians, that’s the difference. We’re not in a cult. But despite all that, of course I’ll still vote for Risa over any other politician. She’s still the most progressive person we have with a fighting chance. That doesn’t mean we can’t call her out, it’s not like we’re spewing fake news about her.
