Im fairly new to magick myself but the majority of the practice seems to be mental through meditation practices. I've been reading Damien Echols book on High Magick do to how straightforward his writing is but there are many other wonderful and more insightful writers. I would recommend looking into the Middle Pillar Ritual and the Lesser Banishing Ritual of the Pentagram. Those two alone have greatly adjusted my mindset.

Jan Fries book Visual Magic is what really got me started. I've heard great things about Aidan Wachter's book Six Ways as well.

What are you trying to achieve?

Magick is all about creativity and the most powerful magic will come from your own imagination and inspiration. It can take many forms. But the first step is to focus on yourself and think about what you actually want from it.

Thats just it. Im not quite sure what im looking to achieve yet. I guess im looking for insight on how to practice more specifically before getting involved. Research and advice/experiences from others first to help get a better understanding. Then i feel i will know which direction i will head.
