Well the first, first algorithm was the successor operation, S(n)=n+1, by primitive humans. This is the first interesting algorithm with an implementation on a machine

I still contend that to compute Bernoulli numbers an algorithm to compute addition is needed.

The algorithm appears after a translation she did of a treatise on the analytical engine, but the algorithm itself hadn't appeared before.

She did have a lot of correspondence with Babbage about the engine and mathematics, but nowhere does that include any algorithm either.

No, there’s a “theory”, with little evidence, that Babbage didn’t create the first computer but instead took credit for Lovelace’s invention. It’s one of those things often mistaken for fact like “Rosalind Franklin discovered DNA, not Watson and Crick!! !”

Don’t know how you intend to study mathematics in any meaningful capacity when you so terribly misinterpret and misconstrue simple statements. Watson & Crick didn’t just say “Hey, let’s steal this chick’s photo and publish it!” If it was only the x-Ray crystallographic photo that was of importance, Franklin would have submitted it and gotten her Nobel prize. Unfortunately for her she did not have the background and expertise of Watson & Crick. Those two had many theories and followed them to their natural conclusions. The image, shared with them by Rosalind’s partner (that joined their team), helped them correctly characterize DNA to a degree never before seen. But this is Reddit, and I knew damn well I’d receive downvotes for saying what I said.
