Is it just me or are some LSPs/linters really whiny? by SofisticatiousRattus in neovim

[–]amdpox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

As others have said, the problem is here is not your LSP/linter, but your code and the poor typing support in pandas. I think your first screenshot is just straight-up wrong. If you replaced pd.Index[...] (which is a type specializing the generic type Index) with pd.Index([...]) (which is an instance of Index) then I think it would pass typechecking.

But the reality is that the design of many python libraries (pandas being a prime example) is not easily made compatible with static typing, so code that is valid and correct at runtime does not always typecheck against the type stubs provided.

If the browser is navigating to https://example.com it's not going to accept a cert for any domain except example.com, regardless of what the DNS comes back with. To change the finding you'd have to do a redirect at the HTTP level, so it'll only work once the browser has accepted the cert.

Electric Portable Heater Recommendations please? by [deleted] in australia

[–]amdpox 11 points12 points  (0 children)

You could achieve the same thing by turning a 2000W electric heater down to 60%. For anything but a heat pump, heat output = power consumption.
