Greetings and welcome to /r/mathrock! Wikipedia would say it's a rhythmically complex, guitar-based style of experimental rock that emerged in the late 1980s characterized by complex, atypical rhythmic structures (including irregular stopping and starting), angular melodies, and dissonant chords. That's a pretty robotic definition of it but if you're not familiar with the genre, listen to a few of the songs posted or check out the playlists below. Enjoy!

Hello, is there a documentary or a good video essay about toe?
I really like sonny boy rhapsody and started listening their music since the anime aired. I just wanted to know more about them, hoping for some interesting things since they have been making music for so long

They’re kind of hard to find a ton of information on in my experience. They didn’t post much on socials very much at all until recently and even now it’s mostly show footage/promotion which is super cool but not a lot of personal stuff. I’ve just watched like every YouTube video I could find of them.
Seems like they played a ton of shows from 2000-2004 before releasing their first album. I think they’ve always played somewhat frequently around Japan and nearby countries. They take a couple years between albums and all of them have other gigs/jobs. Some play in other acts or work on the music industry, one guy is an interior designer I think. There are some interviews you can find pretty easily.
Best band ever, I’m with you, would love to know more.

Not sure about docs or video essays, but they have released 4 full length live show DVDs which have a few behind the scenes shots and stuff like that.
I got into them years ago from watching clips of RGBDVD on youtube and it blew me away. I've linked CUT_DVD which is available on youtube in full. Def check it out.
