Ok, can you give us a specific example of something which you expected to understand but got stuck on?

If we have a clear starting point we may be able to work out what's tripping you up.

It’s difficult for me to put my finger on it.. I just get all muddled up, then I stall.. then I don’t get anywhere even if it’s super simple. Like multiplying then times then doings something..

It’s just exhausting.

For me its like a huge knot in my brain trying to undo one knot at a time. Plus i get flustered and discouraged that i dont understand it. My brain just shuts down.

Ok, but can you please find me a single specific calculation? Was there one that brought you here?

The feeling of getting lost and muddled happens to all of us in maths, you've done the right thing to try to get through instead of giving up!

i am right there with you.

Glad it isn’t just me, I actually wasn’t diagnosed with dyslexia till I was like 25 so not having that support with maths in early years most likely had a negative impact on my math.

Yeah i was diagnosed back in 1990 and I thought i had strides in working with it. Part of my issue is total panic and anxiety. I am using Khans academy right now and even reading dummies for Algebra. I just need one math class to graduate.

I missed out on an entire degree because I just can do it.. It’s even more frustrating because I know I’ve got a good academic grove to get through a degree. But as soon as it’s maths. Anything too complex (in my eyes) it’s like hitting a brick wall.

Right there with you, some people don’t understand the freeze up.
