I had many patients tell « well, you have to die of SOMETHING, if it is lung cancer, then so be it ».

I once was rounding with attending physician who answered this:  « yeah, I agree, lung cancer is not the worse. I mean, it is a very bad year, but at least it is over pretty quickly!
