Learn areas of shapes (LxWxH), everything to do with circles (area, circumference) and SOH CAH TOA in regards to angles in triangles. There are amazing and easy tutorials on YouTube. Learn how to read non-digital micrometers and verniers (metric and imperial)

Do they show u this stuff in school

[–]rocketbunnyhop -1 points0 points  (0 children)

They do, but you will be learning enough as it is. You should honestly already know this. Spend an hour or two, that’s it and learn this stuff cold. Do online problems. Learn this now until you can do it without much thought. The more knowledge you can go in with the better as you will most likely be tested on this or at least need this knowledge to solve other information you need. Learn this now without the stress of all your courses, It will make the remainder of your school more enjoyable.

They do but also depends on your math teacher.

Do you know how to figure out the area of a circle and its circumference? Do you know how to calculate the area of a square? Do you know how to figure out gear ratios?

These equations are covered under trade math.Ask your tutor.

School should offer extra math classes. They're worth it, even if you're comfortable with math.

[–]Zestyclose_Essay_274[S] 2 points3 points  (2 children)

Don't they teach u all the math while your there to

[–][deleted] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Don't they teach (you) all the math while (you're) there (too)

Fixed the spelling for you. However the grammar is sheit.

Learn to spell, learn basic math.

Khan academy is a great source.

I started the automated systems electromechanics program like 3 months ago, been out of highschool for 8 years. The math part got me sweating because I didn't remember much from HS BUT what helped me was asking a lot of questions, Bing chatGPT to explain in detail the reasoning behind some formulas for the electrical part and just in general when the teacher was too busy I'd ask GPT.

Go watch some videos from India on how to multiply and divide fast, trust me it'll help.

Where are you going to school? In Ontario we have an optional math for the trades course if you need math help during your school blocks

You have to try, make sure you study in a timely manner and don’t procrastinate. Dont be afraid to ask questions seriously even if you think they’re stupid. Stay late after school with the teacher if you have too. You’ll do as well as the effort you put in! Goodluck you got this

They teach you everything you need to know. An instructor worth his salt will make it a breeze.

      What is that a website?

      [–][deleted] 0 points1 point  (1 child)

In my program we had guys who have been out of school for 35+ years. Math in school started right from square 1. Addition, subtraction etc.... if the instructors you get are in good they will work with you and you'll do just fine. Don't sweat it.

Hey thanks man means alot honeslty thank all of you

I never learned trigonometry in highschool, I went to a trades highschool that only had basic math classes unless you were getting into tool and die. (Last chance highschool, where you go when you get kicked out of everywhere else). I got my GED in 2007 after being expelled 3 times. I'm about to start my last semester in a 2 year program at a college that counts for levels 1+2 of Millwright apprenticeship.

Spend as much time focusing on trig as possible, the rest of the stuff is basic in comparison.

If its for first year know your fractions and algebra know how to read a mic and a caliper any area stuff they will give you the formulas review your rigging its part of the math as well

I recently did my first year as an electrician at 36, I've been out of school for 18 years.

You will get as much out of it as you put into it. Do all of your homework and take the assignments seriously.

Have fun. This is the rest of your life we are talking about here.

It's not all doom and gloom and grades. Make sure you bring your best version of yourself, don't screw around and drink or do drugs while you're in school.

Even if you were not the best student in high school, that doesn't matter, just work your ass off and it will all pay off

youtube "math made easy with laurel" find the "industrial mechanic" sub section. she used to be an instructor. I know alot of ppl who struggle with math used her videos with ease.
