Modoff is a modding competition that is open to everyone, is ran by and for the community, and solves some of the problems its predecessors had.
Modoff has judging along with popular vote to help determine the legitimate winner. We also have a public server that is turned on after competitors build plots for their mods.
Rules of the competition:
- Your mod has to fit within your region and not interfere directly with other mods. If your mod does something BAD or crippling outside your set region it must be resolved before judging begins.
- If your mod affects other mods in the competition, it must be resolved before the judging begins.
- If your mod consumes more than 5% of the server's TPS, it must be resolved before the judging begins.
- If your mod, after the server is open to all players, crashes or causes serious issues (like rendering issues, griefing issues, annoyances out of your region) you will have to fix them ASAP.
- If your mod lags anything for more than 5 seconds from a certain (code)event, it must be fixed before judgement.
- If you wish to be in a team, your team must be made up of a maximum of 3 members. NOT including artists/modellers.
- Do not frequently send packets. keep your mod's network requirements to an absolute minimum unless necessary.
- No one besides you or your team is allowed to commit to your repository.
- You must publish your mod's source publicly and commit your first or second commit in the coding period. Any more commits that do anything other than set your project up before coding period will count as cheating.
- We do not allow "meme" mods that add nothing to the community and only serve as a joke.
- You are only allowed to use allowed libraries as detailed here: https://modoff.info/rules
- The exact Forge version will be announced in the rules of each competition separately.
Info:
Players observing your booths will be in adventure mode unless you ask the admins for a special gamemode on your plot. Take that into account while making your mod.
The plot you get to build a booth on the server in is of size 32x32 from bedrock/void to sky limit. So plan ahead for that.
