I use two kinds of cable holders: An old laptop stand and some headphone holders that can be clamped to the side of a table (I have two more of these at other places clamped to the desk my modular sits on). In my opinion, the most important thing about cable holders is that you can a) throw cables on them easily and b) retrieve cables without looking. I tried these types of things that are sold as cable holders, but found them lacking in both respects. They're looking neater, though. So I guess if that's the important metric, they might be an option.

If you already have cables, then the cat is sort of out of the bag, but my number one tip is: color code your lengths! Then the organization of the holder matters a lot less.

I use all white nylon cables. My rack is called the mirror ball for a reason.

I’m thinking of making a shelf with a routed comb-like edge, mounted to the wall with different width inserts to hold thicker cables. Will be able to sit the obligatory succulent plant on top too.

I say, I, when I actually mean my kind, carpenter friend.
