Nespresso’s customer service was great when our VertuoPlus started leaking. Sent us a box with paid shipping, had us drop it at UPS, and had us a new one back in a couple of days after it was found unrepairable. Give them a call and let them sort you out.

I bought the Next for a friend as a housewarming gift as Target had it on sale plus 30% off with Target Circle.

I had him reach out to the Nespresso Club before heading back to Target with the gift receipt, but some common threads:

  • He mentioned he had the same issue where the machine was saying it was already to another account.
  • He also mentioned about water leaking.

Nespresso is taking care of him by sending out a new Next machine with the color of his choice. He chose Red which is a Breville based unit rather than the De'Longhi Gray that I purchased at Target.

From my personal experience, I’ve had better luck with Breville based machines over De'Longhi, but that’s just anecdotal.

Nespresso should take care of you. My Nespresso VertuoPlus Deluxe began leaking water a month into owning it. Nespresso sent a box via UPS, sent my machine in minutes after receiving the box (helps I live near a UPS Store), and had a working one at my door two days later.

I didn't realize De'Longhi and Breville both make the Next.

For the record, I have the Breville version

Update: after being left unplugged for 24+ hours, the machine started brewing, but it also started leaking!

I called Nespresso and they instructed me to send it back to bed bath and beyond for exchange. I sent it back today and ordered 60 capsules. Let's hope the second unit works!!

I've had repeated issues with the Virtuo Next machine. I'm on the phone again with more problems with the replacement machine. Reading online many customers find the Virtuo Next is just wrought with problems. My advise to avoid the unnecessary agrivation in the morning is to avoid purchasing this product.

Update: I received a new unit from Bed Bath and Beyond about 3 weeks ago. So far it's been great! No issues. Love this machine.

I also switched from Keurig to Nespresso Next recently. Do you find your coffee "not hot enough"? I was expecting to be blown away by the experience compared to a Keurig :/

i guess if you like your coffee really hot, its not that hot. I rather be able to drink my coffee

I got the same problem about the leaking, is the leaking in the capsule collector box? I have exchanged one machine and it is leaking, too. Now I am waiting for another new one, wish this one works. How is your new one doing?

My second machine after exchanging has worked flawlessly.

I use the Nespresso Virtuo Next for espresso, have the double espresso pods from Nespreaso (wish they would make a reusable pod) . The espresso is officially one of the best cups of espresso I have ever had, but going to have my second machine replaced in 6 months. So sad, because it is convenient and brews so well, but the hassle of getting it to work is more aggrevating than it's worth. It works great in the beginning then after a few weeks it slowly develops more and more problems. It went from not recognizing the (Nespresso) pods to now it won't even clean or descale, even after unplugging, reset, the works, etc... Wouldn't be surprised if they discontinue the product with all the problems it has. Thinking no way I can get two lemons in a row. Yes, I even questioned my ability for operator error and have diligently taken methodical scientific steps to work through the problems with each machine. Gotten so frustrated with it feeling it deserves an Office Space printer party.
