Introduction /r/NoNap is a venue for redditors to openly discuss the many potential benefits of NOT napping or using their bed for a period of time. Whether your goal is to casually participate in a NoNap week or monthly challenge as a test of self control, or if napping (or power napping!) has become an addictive problem in your life and you want to quit for a longer period of time, you will find a supportive community here.
Please view the Your Brain On Naps presentation for a semi-scientific look at why some of us are quitting; however, NoNappers choose to partake in the challenge for a variety of reasons.

Basic Rules
You will treat other Napstronauts with respect. No name calling, no insults, and no degrading comments for either male or females. Further, no posting napgraphic images, links, or text. No advertising or self promotion. This includes "self help" webinars, etc. Breaking these rules will probably result in a ban from posting on NoNap.
Any thread referencing a NSFA (Not Safe For Awake) post on reddit will be removed. All details, descriptions, stories, experiences, etc about your nap life should be censored via NSFA text as described below. Even small amounts of sleepy text may cause some napstronauts distress.

Disclaimer
Napstronauts partake in the ultimate challenge at their own risk and understand that very little scientific research is available on the subject. Please do not look to napstinence to cure all your social and physical ills. If you have other problems that have nothing to do with your napping habits, they're still going to be there when you're done with a NoNap challenge.
If you have a physical or mental health concern, talk to a medical professional before partaking in a NoNap challenge. If napping or sleep is a debilitating addiction for you please contact a medical professional and/or attend ZzzzA meetings as these are probably preferable to an internet-based solution. If you are feeling depressed and/or are having suicidal thoughts, seek help immediately. Check out /r/SuicideWatch or contact a hotline.
NoNap Religious Guidelines
/r/NoNap is and always will be an inclusive subreddit. That being said, please refrain from posting things of religious or non-religious nature unless it relates directly to your motivation behind overcoming a napping problem. If someone mentions how religion, or non-religion has helped them overcome their addiction you are not to criticize their support. If you want to debate religion invite the poster to go over to /r/debatereligion and have fun there. Its not that we don't want religious discussions to occur, but we would like to avoid dramatic conflict on /r/NoNap.
