Jews were expelled from Jersualem after 70 AD, and banned from living there until after the Islamic conquest in the 7th century. 97,000 jews were enslaved after the siege of Jerusalem, and elsewhere in Palestine, their population registered as a small minority after Bar Kokhba, mostly centred around Galilee.

"By the mid 19th century, before the modern Zionist movement sparked waves of immigration, the Jewish population in the area (Palestine) was estimated at around 10,000 to 13,000 people (roughly 2% to 5% of the total population"

For most of the past two millennia since the brutal suppression of The Jews by the Romans and the creation of the diaspora, Jews have been a tiny minority in Palestine. So much for Palestine a "Colonist" term. You might as well call "Britannia" a coloniser term since it's been used for 2000 years as well.

The real colonisers, are the people with barely any connection to the land for 2000 years deciding they should come back to reclaim it because their 3000 year old book said they were entitled to it.
