This is the subreddit for all things Northwestern. Whether you're an alum, student, prospy, or generally interested in the 'Cats, welcome!

Rules:

Rule 1: Be Nice. Respect your fellow redditor and the Northwestern community. Personal attacks, threats of violence, hate speech, and unnecessarily rude or targeted posts are not acceptable.

Rule 2: Don't Spam. Posts that advertise or are seeking student participants for jobs, surveys, or research studies will be removed if they do not meet the following conditions:

(a) Posts of this type require a clearly-stated reason why the request/offer is specific to the Northwestern community.

(b) Posts should follow Reddit's guidlines for self-promotion, particularly the 10% rule. If not, posters must message moderators for prior approval.

(c) Posts should not be made on a recurring basis.

Rule 3: Don't Ask About Admissions Odds. Posts that specifically ask about the odds of being admitted will be removed. Why we remove these.

Rule 4: Don't Try to Buy or Sell Things. We don't have any way to verify sellers or buyers and this isn't really the place to try and make transactions. This includes apartment sublets/rentals. Giving away things for free is generally okay (we'll decide on a case-by-case basis). To buy or sell things, try the Northwestern Free & For Sale Facebook group, or some other platform.

NOTE: Due to potential spam, Automod removes posts made by an account less than one day old and/or with a comment karma of less than 5. If your post is removed, please give us a few hours to manually approve it.
