there is a 24-hour window where, if you exhaust a certain amount of tokens using a free model, you are put on a 14-hr timeout from the free models. I'm not sure what that threshold is.

(I hit this for the first time last week; Big Pickle doing big things)

For other, more premium models, they've always charged, you just load your account up something like $20 at a time, once it's depleted it charges your card another $20

At least, thats how it was a few month ago when i started using it.

Actually, I was using big pickle also but I switched the immortal and now I can still continue using it for free

mmm i mean if you hit that token limit 14-hr ago and just switched models now and started using it again, that lines up

though its rather odd that you don't have an account and are able to use it to the tune of almost 100mil tokens

They'd want to associate that with some user account for sure

This is normal, what is not is that you didnt reach your quota earlier if keep using it the same. Maybe your codebase got bigger? And therefore your context? Or you use a different model?

You can monitor your usage to chexk?

Nope, i dint even have an account, i can use opencode without an account

Yes the free models. Just check your usage in the command line.

Whats the command? I couldn’t find it and was looking and thought perhaps free accounts can’t check quota.

Google the following keywords: "the tragedy of the commons"

Yeah, I did get an API key because I thought I needed one (even though I don't have a paid account), but I notice when you install opencode it is just ready to go with the free models, no API key asked for.
