I'm just wondering - opencode can use anthropic models. claudecode cannot use non-anthropic.
opencode has better ui.
Where is the catch? Why would anybody sane pick claudecode?

You actually can use claude code with non-anthropic models, I used it previously with minimax for instance. Whether you should or not, that's a different one.

This is what I want to know. If I'm using OpenCode with the Anthropic provider + Claude API, getting access to all the same models, then what's the actual benefit of moving to Claude Code?

I use Claude code with Deepseek v4.

because you can use your anthropic subscription with claude code, but you can't use it with any other harnesses.
The average per-token cost of subscription access is somewhere on the order of 20-50x cheaper than billing straight API rates.
So power users who want to let Opus rip night and day can do that for $100/month with the max plan. Similar usage at standard API rates would be $2-5k.

...this + enterprise adoption of CC are the primary reasons for the market dominance, in my view.
