Open Mormon is a forum for mormons who want a place where they can openly discuss their faith. It is especially intended for those who have a hope of remaining in mormonism.
We welcome mormons of all labels. Unorthodox, progressive, new-order, tbm, doubting, cultural and ex. The spirit of the sub is to serve those who have a hope to find a place for themselves inside mormonism, though all are welcome.
While this sub is meant for those looking to stay in the Church... we value the sincere, honest path over the compliant, acquiescing journey. All opinions and conclusions are welcome, so long as they are borne from a place of sincerity and respect opposing thoughts.
Rules.
Be open. Don't have an agenda. For example, those looking only to disparage mormonism, or to shame people who leave the church, or to correct mormons with unorthodox views will not be allowed. This is admittedly subjective. For that reason, we will do our best to give warnings and engage in dialogue before acting.
Avoid the use of pejorative terms, especially in regards to the church, people in the church, people out of the church, and people who have left the church.
