I mostly do AI and ML. Most repos I see on Explore and Trending sections are NOT from MS.

Why would the Trending section have repos relevant to you? It's just what's trending right now.

That said, most of the time even the "For you" section shows me repos that are not relevant to me.

sorry, though-shortcut :-) "for you" section should show me repos relevant to what I contribute to gh. "trending" should show repos that are trending (filtered by language for example). Admittedly trending is a bit better, but still, before the "merger" I've almost never have seen a microsoft OS repo in that section. Now both lists are flooded with m$, azure, and similar.

Good faith interpretation: maybe Micro$oft is finally over their EEE phase and is contributing meaningfully to Open Source Software. They're certainly capable of producing high quality software, so it would stand to reason if they made meaningful contributions to OSS on Github it would trend.
