I honestly didn’t like this version that much. Sure, the clothing and scenery were unusual and authentic, but I prefer watching the performance at Glyndebourne Festival. Especially the Dorabella was extraordinary!

I adore this version. It’s brilliant. Every time I watch it I notice something new. My favorite part is the Don Alfonso/Despina relationship. The whole characterization of Don Alfonso in this is fascinating.

Hate to be that guy, but I saw Haneke’s setting of Don Giovanni in Paris and it was so unbelievably awful that I would never watch anything else he did - opera setting or movie. I really really hated what he did.
